Who defines normal anyway?

My husband who has recently discovered his wife's love language is act of service, yells  "Everyone help out with the dishes!"   My sassy 16 year old replies, "How about if you and your adopted children do the dishes?"   Her 12 year old "adopted" brother struts, "Mom, I think Jane's jealous, she's sad because she wasn't adopted."  His ill-fated sister rolls her eyes and says, "Yeah, right! Whatever!"

May 13th First round of chemo today. I went in like a champ and came out like a zombie. The first thing I noticed when I walked into the infusion center was a couple who had their TV on rather loud and talking loud at the same time. I was immediately irritated by the noise they were making. I asked the nurse if she was saving the private room for someone. She said they fill in all the chairs first. I just closed the curtains to give myself some privacy. It took one hour to get my blood work back, counting red/white blood cells to see if I am good enough to take chemo. Then it took about 2.5 hours to do pre-med. steroid, anti-nausea, and some other kinds...then the chemo nurse came in with two huge syringes filled with chemo med and another bag with more med. All of sudden, I felt light headed and my chest felt heavy and became hard to breathe. My vitals were dropping. A social worker (counselor) came to talk with me. Prayer for My Children Day 29: Self-discipline

Day 29: Self-discipline: "Father, I pray that my children may acquire a disciplined and prudent life, doing what is right and just and fair." (Proverbs 1:3) Whew! I'm almost there. I made a commitment to do prayer entry for 31 virtues and I am on day 29. Let me be honest and admit that it has not been easy. Some days, I just did not want to do it. I wondered and passively checked to see if my older kids were reading my blog every day. I think they are skipping and skimming through. Facebook sends me report and how many reaches I get and it doesn't seem to be too popular.  At times, it might have discouraged me but I kept writing because one of the reasons for these daily prayer entries were to discipline myself as a writer. I kept up even when I didn't want to. I also hope my kids will know that their mother has been praying for them everyday. They will know my heart. Today, I also finished study book on Apostle Paul. Prayer for My Children Day 16

Day 16: Peace-loving: Father, let my children make every effort to do what leads to peace (Rom. 14:19) My son rebuts and says, "It's my freedom! I have the freedom of speech, I can say whatever I want!" Without getting into a lengthy lecture, although I was tempted to, I told him, there's no freedom without responsibility. In Romans 14, I could almost imagine Apostle Paul with the 'Are you serious?' expression on his face, "Would you quit arguing about meaningless things- about what to eat, what to drink? Look, it's about living in the Holy Spirit! You are all missing the point!" And I might add, "You idiots!" My kids know the extent of my road rage would be calling someone "Idiot!" They laugh at me and I quickly deny it but they heard me. I pray that my kids would be passionate people.
