Prayer for My Children Day 10
Day 10: Self-esteem. "Help my children develop a strong self-esteem that is rooted in the realization that they are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus" (Eph 2:10)
Freedom came when I finally realized and accepted the fact that I am not responsible for making myself more valuable human being. My value doesn't come from what I achieve and acquire. I am not deemed more important or worthy because of my good behavior or my good looks. My worth is based on the fact that God made me like Himself! I am deemed worthy enough to be rescued and sent. We are worthy! You and I, all of us! Period!
When we start from the place of knowing our true worth, we can go to a different place in life on this earth. We can live life courageously! During the time of cancer treatment, one of the most painful thing for me was the feeling of unproductiveness. I was not able to do anything that I used to do or suppose to do. I was not able to take care of my children, go to work, and the absolute worst was not being able to speak. I love speaking. I can feel and see myself thrive when speaking in front of people. For a shy introvert like myself it's a miracle that I enjoy speaking that much. When I am on a stage looking out at the audience, sharing the thoughts God has put on my heart, I feel I am doing what I am called to do. I feel at home. It's only by His grace that I do what I do. But, do you know what I've learned? Even in answering His call and living purposefully, the most important thing to God in that moment is ME. Not my talent or ability or good works, it's me whom God is after. It's me whom he cares about because I am His child. He loves me! It's YOU whom God is after, because He loves you! You are a spitting image of your Daddy. You are already perfect and lovely.
